Swiss Diplomat is Keynote Speaker at Colloquium

Minister Max Schweizer (Dr. phil.II, Dr. h.c.,) was the keynote speaker at the colloquium organized by the LRG Research Centre on March 5th, 2012.

Dr Schweizer‘s lecture was entitled “The Role of Diplomacy in the World of Business”. His presentation addressed the significant role diplomacy plays in the development of international business. Dr Schweizer shared with students and faculty his vast experience in this field. It was a great honor for the LRG Research Centre to have Dr Schweizer as keynote speaker of the colloquium.

Dr Max Schweizer is Minister, Deputy Permanent Representative Federal Department of Economic Affairs (FDEA) and Permanent Mission of Switzerland to World Trade Organization and of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA).

Dr. Schweizer is also Managing Director and Treasurer of the Swiss Diplomats-Zurich Network. Dr. Schweizer served as Swiss diplomat in a number of countries in Africa, Asia and Europe. He studied Geography, History and Political Science at the University of Zurich, where he wrote his doctoral thesis. He also holds an honorary doctorate from the Technical University of Kaunas, Lithuania. Dr. Schweizer will be joining the ZHAW (Zurich University for Applied Sciences) per 1st of June 2012 where is going to create the Center “Foreign Affairs & Applied Diplomacy”.
