LRG lecturer’s paper on Corporate Social Responsibility wins an award at the EuroCHRIE

Henri Kuokkanen and Mike MacDonald, lecturers at LRG and GIHE, won the Institute of Hospitality’s annual award for the best paper submitted to the 2012 EuroCHRIE conference. Their paper was titled ‘Corporate Social Responsibility: Are visitors prepared to pay for it?’ and it explored attitudes toward Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of visitors to the Swiss alpine resort of Zermatt, located at the foot of the Matterhorn.

The EuroCHRIE is the European Council on Hotel, Restaurant & Institutional Education, and it is the leading international organization that supports education and training for the hospitality industry. The award consists of a framed certificate, a cheque for €500, complimentary membership of the Institute for one year, and the publication of the paper as an article in the Institute’s magazine, Hospitality. The Award was presented by Philippe Rossiter on behalf of the Institute of Hospitality at the conference gala dinner on Friday 2nd of November.
