BULLE CAMPUS

The Bulle campus provides each student with a membership card for two different sports facilities in town including a fitness centre and access to the tennis club a few hundred meters from the main campus. 

 

If you are looking for leisure and adventures, this region offers a variety of activities including horse riding, biking, walking, swimming, paragliding, adventure parks and hot-air ballooning. Winter sports are available at nearby ski resorts such as Charmey or Le Moléson which are only a short bus ride away from Bulle. The charming man-made lake of Gruyère is popular for fishing, sailing, canoeing and kayaking.

 

During the preparatory year in the Glion campus, Fitness Centre offers students a variety of cardio-vascular and weight training machines and tools. Under the supervision of Event, Sport and Entertainment students, the Fitness Centre allows for a personalized approach to physical fitness.

For intramural sports, the Gymnasium can be set up for Volleyball, badminton, basketball, football, table-tennis and other activities. Professional classes in Yoga, dance, Tae-Box, or Capoeïra can also be arranged depending on demand.

Surrounded by the mountains, Glion has easy access to ski resorts, all offering excellent opportunities to practice winter sports. With the lake just below, summer season provides the setting for water sports and outdoor activities such as golf, tennis, swimming, and boating. One of the largest water parks in Europe is just beside Montreux in “Le Bouveret” village and students can present their student cards for a discount.

For on-campus recreational activities, the Club has a pool table, baby-foot and relaxation room with a wide screen TV and DVD player. The Club is also the site for theme nights featuring cocktails, music, ethnic meals, and a dancehall ambiance with music and social events organised by students.

 

BLUCHE CAMPUS

Students can freely enjoy numerous outdoor and indoor sport facilities. On campus, student have unlimited access to the fitness centre, basketball and volleyball courts, a soccer field, and 2 outdoor swimming pools

For recreational activities, the CDV has electronic games, pool table fussball and students also have internet access. The CDV is occasionally transformed into a dancehall with music and theme parties organized by students. 

Students will never find themselves lacking in recreational and social options. The full-time sports coach helps students maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle by organizing a variety of excursions at a discounted rate. Depending upon the season, students can participate in such sports as golf, volleyball, basketball, horseback riding, parachuting or swimming. In winter, students can participate in outings and arrange courses in skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing or skating.

Regular outings are also available for visiting the surrounding areas, Swiss fairs and major cities, museums, and European destinations like Milan.

Les Roches-Gruyère University of Applied Sciences is the first private University of Applied Sciences in hotel management in Switzerland. It offers a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management including a specialisation in international hospitality management or a specialisation in food, beverage and operations management that is recognised by the Swiss government and that meets the Bologna European standards. It also offers a one year Master of advanced studies. This university uses the resources and facilities of the highly-reputed Swiss institutions of Les Roches International School of Hotel Management and of Glion Institute of Higher Education*. GIHE and Les Roches, our sister schools, are accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in the USA and are not part of the federally authorised UAS.
