BLUCHE CAMPUS & ITS REGION

Les Roches campus is nestled in a lovely Alpine Village (Bluche), in the "commune" of Randogne, in the canton of Valais, only 10 minutes away from the international holiday resort of Crans-Montana. Located just below 1,274 meters above sea-level, the campus sits on the sunny side of the Swiss Alps overlooking the valley of the river Rhone. The canton of Valais, called Wallis by German speakers, is divided into the French and German speaking parts and serves as a major route to Italy through the Gd-st-Bernard mountain pass.

The village of Bluche, where the campus has most of its facilities, is situated directly between the larger city of Sierre and Crans-Montana. The world class ski resort of Crans-Montana is just one funicular or bus stop away offering a wide range of slopes for all levels of skiers and snowboarders from beginners to professionals. Other accessible winter sports include sledding, snow-tubing, snow-shoeing, ice-skating, and cross-country skiing. The summer and fall seasons offer opportunities for golfing, hiking, rafting, biking, boating and other outdoor sports. Traditional Swiss chalets scattered around the campus village and Crans-Montana add a touch of traditional ambiance to these year-round tourist destinations.

If you wish to have more ‘City-life’ on weekends, you can hop on a funicular or bus to Sierre. The funicular goes down through vineyards that stretch out over the south facing slopes of the mountain. In Sierre, you will find many restaurants, shops and wine bars/trails where you can sample a glass of the famous regional white and red wines. A few large shopping centres are easy to find for practical needs and a cinema shows the latest films in French and English.
