Dr. Ian Jenkins

Ian Jenkins, (BSc Econ, MPhil, PhD, University of Wales) has worked in the tourism and leisure industries for the last twenty years as a researcher, senior lecturer, consultant and director of several research units. This work has resulted in numerous publications including industry reports, conference papers, academic articles and book chapters; he has also been a peer reviewer for journal articles. Some of the research projects he has been involved with have resulted in legislative change and improved industry standards. In addition, he has undertaken work for prestigious organisations such as UNESCO, British Council, British Standards Institute, Health and Safety Executive, VisitWales and CEN. His research and consultancy expertise ranges from niche tourism development through to risk management of adventure tourism products. Ian is currently an external examiner for the University of Birmingham at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has also recently been invited to be a PhD examiner at Cranfield University.

Dr. Ruth Rios-Morales

Ruth Rios-Morales holds a BSc in Economics, MSc in International Economics and a PhD in Politics of International Business from the University of Ulster, UK. Ruth is also Country Director for Switzerland of the EuroMed Research Business Institute (EMRBI). Before joining LRG, Ruth taught international business at the School of Business Studies, Trinity College Dublin. Ruth has also taught international business and finance in Universidad de Zaragoza, Spain. Ruth has conducted advanced research in international business and finance, her research has been acknowledged by the United Nation Conference for Trade and Development and the World Bank. Ruth contributed with Oxford Analytica and with the State Failure Task Force of NATO. Ruth is also member of the advisory committee of the Institute of International Trade of Ireland.

Dr. Alain Imboden

Alain Imboden holds a PhD in sociology from the University of Uppsala, a MA in social sciences from the University of Stockholm, Sweden, and a BA in social sciences from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Previously, Alain taught and conducted research at the Institute for Urban and Housing Research (IBF) in Gävle, Sweden, as well as at the sociological department of the University of Uppsala. His most recent research focuses on adventure tourism as well as sustainable management within the hospitality industry. As the head of the Swiss Hospitality Applied Research (SHARE) unit based on the LRG Bluche campus, Alain is also currently coordinating research projects involving LRG faculty in collaboration with public authorities and private corporations within the hospitality industry.

Robert A. Lewis

Robert A. Lewis holds a BA from American University of Paris, DES from the University of Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne, MSc (management) from Boston University, PGD in research methods from Kingston University London and is presently completing his DBA at the University of Gloucestershire. He has over 12 years professional experience in HRM and contracts management in France. He has also acted as staff trainer at the OECD (Paris), the EU Council of Ministers (Brussels) and the EU Court of Auditors (Luxembourg). His current research focus is on flexible work methods and work-life balance. Recent projects include investigations on the effects of telework in the French national administration and work-life balance on employees in the luxury hotel industry in Italy and Switzerland.

Christian Kammer

Christian Kammer has been working with GIHE for close to 2 decades, originally as Internship Placement Officer and Hospitality Lecturer. He is now involved in several of our programmes as Food and Beverage Lecturer, teaching at foundation, intermediate and upper levels in addition to his responsibilities as LRGUAS Programme Leader. Previous to his employment with GIHE, he gained an extensive gastronomic background through a Swiss Chef Certification. A Food and Beverage and Hotel Management Diploma earned at Lausanne Hotel School naturally led him to work in the hospitality industry where he held numerous operational, administrative and managerial positions with Hilton International in Switzerland and Australia. His academic credentials include a Certification as Adult Trainer (FSEA), as Hospitality Educator (CHE) and a Master of Education from Endicott College (USA). He is currently undertaking training at the Changins Wine School (Switzerland) to obtain a certification to act as Jury for wine competitions. Mr Kammer’s research interest are in the area of Wine Business.
