The Launch of LRG-UAS’ Research Unit

On November 8-10, 2010, Les Roches–Gruyère, University of Applied Sciences (LRG-UAS) launched its first research unit: The Swiss Tourism Applied Research (STAR). The inauguration took place at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London. The WTM is an annual event that brings together tourism and travel industry professionals from around the world. It is one of the largest business to business exhibitions; the number of participants reaches the amount of around 15,000 affiliates. By launching STAR at the World Travel Market our Research Unit gained direct access to the Tourism and Travel industry and attained competitive advantage in developing networks with the suppliers of tourism and travel, tour operators, hotels, airlines and online travel services.

The Research Centre has been working together with the Centre of Marketing Excellence in branding the image of research at LRG-UAS. The name of our research unit (STAR) has been verified by the Swiss registration office. Marketing and logo material has been approved by LRG-UAS management team.  It is expected that the Swiss Hospitality Applied Research (SHARE), our other research unit based in Bluche will be launched in 2011.
