Les Roches- Gruyère, University of Applied Sciences (LRG-UAS) was pleased to host the 3rd EuroCHRIE mini- conference at its Bulle campus on April 19th 2010. The theme of this academic event was “Research Methodologies for New Researchers”.

Hosting the HES-SO Convention at Bulle Campus
November 11, 2009, LRG will host the HES-SO convention at Bulle Campus. The Directors of research of the Universities of Applied Sciences of Western Switzerland (HES- SO) gather several times a year. The HES-SO research network led by the Directeur general, Dr Jean-Etienne Berset, enables to coordinate and validate the various research programmes and ensure the general coherence of its academic activities. The presence of the HES-SO in national networks (RCN) gives researchers access to projects and to an effective platform of information necessary for the development of the scientific skills of teaching staff.
Launching of the Research Interest Committee (RIC) - Wine Business of the EMRBI
Ruth Rios-Morales, recently appointed Country Director for Switzerland of the EuroMed Research Business Institute, is the chair of the RIC- Wine Business of the EMRBI. As chair Ruth is organizing the launch of this RIC at the EuroMEd Annual Conference, 26-28 October 2009, Salerno-Italy. Dr Ian Jenkins will join Ruth to support the launch of this RIC. Dr Jenkins suggests that this is an excellent opportunity to foster collaboration and develop the LRG research profile within a European context. At present, the RIC- Wine Business has 22 members from different universities providing a exciting platform to generating and sharing the understanding of different business environments and trends in the region through research, teaching and consulting.
Report on the Society for Personality and Social Psychology Summer School, Chicago, July 2009 By Caroline Pulfrey
July 2009: Caroline Pulfrey, one of five European graduate Social Psychology students chosen to attend the Society for Personality and Social Psychology bi-annual summer school, spent two weeks at Northwestern University in Evanston, Chicago at the Summer Institute of Social Psychology (SISP) along with approximately eighty students from a wide range of US universities. Funding from the EAESP and the Fonds National Suisse covered travel expenses.
