30.04.2012 > 2nd Colloqium "Internaional Sales Law in the Tourism Sector"

STAR LRG is very pleased to welcome  our  2nd Colloquium speaker for this year who is Professor Dr. Rainer Schackmar and will be presenting, “International Sales Law in the Tourism Sector”. He will speak on Wednesday 2nd of May. Professor Dr. Rainer Schackmar holds a chair in International Business Law at Schmalkalden University of Applied Sciences in Germany. After having passed the 1st and 2nd state examinations in law as well as obtained a degree in business administration, he practiced as a solicitor/barrister in a large law firm representing companies in international court and arbitration proceedings. Besides his practice he took his doctorate examination in law with a thesis on international sales law and the Incoterms. He has written several articles and a book on international private law, international conventions and international commercial terms. His research interests focus on international law and insolvency law.

Dr. Ruth Rios-Morales, Deputy Director of Research and Lecturer in Finance and Statistics of LRG- University of Applied Sciences, has been awarded with the Emerald Literati Network Award for Excellence 2011. She received the price for her paper ‘The emergence of Chinese investment in Europe’, published in 2010 by the EuroMed Journal of Business.

Each year, around 100 companies come to visit Les Roches-Gruyère University of Applied Sciences (LRG-UAS) and Glion Institute of Higher Education (GIHE) to recruit their graduates or to enroll them for internship positions. In 2011, famous international hotel chains have already started to recruit in the two renowned institutions.
