Admissions Policy
When considering candidates for admission, the Admissions Manager looks at the entire profile of the candidate, including academic records, work experience if any, extracurricular activities, test scores and recommendations. The institution maintains a rolling admissions policy. This means that the student’s credentials are evaluated as soon as the application form is received, with all the pertinent information. A decision is normally reached within three weeks of reception.

Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management with a specialisation in Food, Beverage and Operations Management
Students wishing to enrol on our Bachelor of Science programme, need to meet the following criteria:
- Secondary education credentials accepted
- Swiss Maturité gymnasiale ou professionnelle
- French Baccalauréat
- International Baccalaureate Diploma
- British A-Levels (minimum 3 required)
- German Abitur
- Gymnasiekolan
- Spanish Bachillerato (minimum 5/10 in Selectividad Exam)
- Italian Maturità
- Brazilian Conclusão de 2 Grau Diploma
- Bachillerato (South America)
- Chinese Senior High School Graduation Diploma plus university entrance examination
- Indian Senior Secondary School Certificate
- Korean High School Diploma plus SAECE results (Scholastic Achievement Exam for College Entrance)
- Swedish Slutbetyg
- American High School Diploma plus evidence of higher achievement (3 AP or IB Higher Level certificates), plus satisfactory SAT 1 results. SAT scores must be sent directly to LRG by the College Board, LRG's institutional code is 5875.
- Associate Degree, University Degree or equivalent
Please Note: Other higher secondary education credentials may be acceptable at our discretion. Non European qualifications will be evaluated on a case by case basis by the Admissions Manager to assure that they are comparable with European standards. - Preparatory Year: Students who do not have an appropriate “maturité professionelle” or previous qualifying professional experience must pass the preparatory year before entry into the BSc programme. During this year, students who are assessed as needing extra support on Mathematics or English will be given support. English level must be as stated by the start of the Degree. Success in the preparatory year requires the same passing criteria as the Degree. No subjects can be failed.
- Professional Experience: Students who have professional experience may be exempted from the internship component of the preparatory year.
- English Requirements: If English is not your mother tongue, or if you have not spent at least three years in an English speaking institution, please enclose a copy of one of the following:
- TOEFL: minimum score of 550 points for the paper based test, 79-80 on the internet based test scale. The TOEFL code number for LRG is 3864.
- Cambridge First Certificate: min Grade A.
- Cambridge Advanced Certificate : min Grade B
- I.E.L.T.S. minimum band of 5.5 in listening, reading, writing and speaking.
- All English certificates must have been issued in the last 12 months prior to admission.
Application Requirements
All applicants must submit the following documentation.
- LRG-UAS Application form signed and dated
- Application fee of CHF. 100.-
- Passport(s) copy (For non-Swiss citizens residing in Switzerland, please include a copy of residential permit)
- 2 Passport Sized Photos
- CV or Resume: A detailed record of Academic and/or Professional Background
- Study Plan: An essay of motivation describing why the candidate wishes to study in LRG-UAS. Minimum 250words, maximum 1,000 words with signature and date.
- Post Study Plan: An essay explaining what the candidate wishes to do after graduation. This essay should include a statement that the candidate will leave Switzerland upon graduation. Average 250-1,000 words with signature and date.
- Educational Records:
- Transcripts: Showing all grades received and an explanation of the grading system in English or French.
- Copy of final Diploma or Degree.
- If you are coming from outside of the European Union please include a letter of recommendation from a teacher or guidance counsellor.
- If you have not completed your secondary studies, please send a copy of your results for the last three years.
- Official English Certificate: See Admissions Requirements .
- Medical Certificate and Physician’s Report: The Physician’s report must be completed by a licensed physician with the official stamp. Please also include an official report for any medical conditions that require special attention (learning disabilities, dietary restrictions etc).
- Sponsorship Letter: A signed, dated letter from the person who will finance the studies guaranteeing his or her responsibility to cover the tuition fees and all other expenses.
- Bank Guarantee: For students coming from outside the European Union please submit a letter or statement from sponsor’s bank verifying sufficient funds to cover the fees and expenses.
